Even more of a rough day then yesterday
Well I thought she was doing better this morning but I was wrong....Ahhhh!!! She was veryyyyyyyyy cranky, fussy, temp of 102.8 at 3am...yep 3am she woke up crying b/c she was buring up. I gave her motrin then nursed her and she went back to sleep thankfully. However I couldn't fall back to sleep and didn't get much zzzzzz. I am so tireddddddddddd and didn't get to nap today. Her temp went back down to 101.5 later on this morning and then to 98.7 this afternoon, phew! I didn't know what to do when she got very cranky besides hold her which usually didn't work. She'd be fine for a while then all of a sudden start screaming and crying even when I would try to put her down for a nap. I'd put her in the crib and as soon as I went to put her in it, w/o even touching the mattress, she would start crying loudly. As you can tell, it was a very draining day today more than yesterday. Poor Mia....poor me! :( I put her down to sleep at 5:22pm tonight although it took a bit of coaxing to do so but wasn't too bad. I am trying to get ready to go home tonight so I don't have to do much tomorrow. I am all packed, just have a few things to do so I should be good to go, but we'll see. Anywho, that was my day today and yesterday...let's hope it's better tomorrow!

Not napping!
Yeah so Mia is CRANKYYYYYYYYYYYYYY once again! Ahhhhhhhhhh! It started yesterday evening when she woke up from her last nap....and took 10 oz of formula b/c she screamed after I gave her 6! She nursed a couple hours prior to waking up and was clingy when we put her down to play. I wasn't going to nurse her b/c my boobs were pretty empty so I gave her formula instead. All hell broke lose though after she finished the 6 oz and she screamed BLOODY MURDER! I had to give her 4 more to calm her down b/c she was livid! She took the 4 and was much calmer and we were able to go to Mac Grill for Josh's bday...phew! She did well once we got home and we put her down at 8...woke up once and slept from 8:30-7ish this morning...thank god! I ended going to sleep a bit after 1am b/c I had and still have a ton of things to do before we leave Thurs night. This is when I wish I had family around! "Grandma, want to come over and watch Mia?!" haha! I told my mom that and she said we just have to move closer. :)
This morning Mia woke up around 7ish and after I put her back down, she didn't want to sleep anymore and started crying about 30 mins later. She played the entire time...oh well! I got her up and fed her...then the crankiness started around 9:15ish! She was screaming, fussy, cranky, you name it, she was it! I didn't know what to do to calm her down and was able to distract her every now and then. I put her down for a nap at 9:30, 10, 10:30 and 11:45....all with no success and nursing at 10:15 b/c she was just out of control. I let her cry about 15 mins and screaming was involved too. I gave her motrin at 11am hoping that that will help me. We'll see. I just got her back up a bit after noon....she's been up for 5 hours now and is SOOOOOOOOOOOO tired but is doing a bit better than before. She'll prob get clingy soon and start crying like she is doing now. The thing with that is she doen't want to be held and cries when I put her down. I'm like, make up your mind girl! My poor Mia....I just wish she could talk already! :(
Well I think this is all due to her right tooth popping through...noticed it yesterday, her left one came through on the 22nd. This is how she was a couple weeks ago when both top teeth were making their way through. LOVELY!
I guess it's better she is like this now then on the plane Thurs night. I HOPE she isn't like this on the plane?!! Can you imagine!?
I'll let you know how it all goes today...hopefully tomorrow will be better!

Mia Update
Well Miss Mia turned 11 months old on June 14 and I can't believe it! Time is going by too fast but I do enjoy seeing her grow. Mia is now almost walking like a pro, but still a bit shakey. She is getting her front two teeth in which has been tough for her...and me. Two weeks ago, she was prettttyyyy fussy...and would not nap (see blog below). Her top left poked through on the 22nd and I noticed the top right one popped through a tad today (maybe that's why she got realllly cranky after her last nap today?). Anywho, she hardly crawls anymore, loves laying down on things such as a blanket and her baby dolls. Mia knows how to turn over the laundry basket we use as a barricade until we get our gate up and loves eating gogurt with mommy. She gets so excited when she knows I'm eating something she likes and can have such as yogurt. Miss Mia however does not like us changing her on the changing table all that much except in the mornings when she gets up...she's too out of it to care. :) She just gets impatient especially at night when she knows it's bottle time.
Signing wise, Mia has not signed much lately. She doesn't sign milk like she used to a few months ago and did "more" about a month ago, but that's it. I guess she'd rather us guess what she wants then tell us! :)
As far as feedings, she gets about 4 milk feedings/day. I stopped nursing her at night on her 11th month bday b/c I usually end up giving her a bottle after nursing anyway. She doesn't seem to care since she LOVES the bottle! Mia also gets a cereal feeding in the morning, fruit in the afternoon and veggies and meat in the evenings. She loves to eat and especially LOVES anything she can pick up with her fingers.
Sleepwise, no complaints at all...oh except for when she was teething the week of June 12th. She would not nap then and got up a ton when she went to bed at night. It was tough but we got through it thankfully!
I am still teaching Mia Spanish words and phrases and just recently joined a spanish speaking playgroup on Tuesdays (they speak English too). I am not that good at speaking spanish, but I think this will help me and Mia learn Spanish easier.
Other than that, we are enjoying seeing Mia grow up into this little person. It still amazes me that she is ours!! Anywho, we getting ready to head home on Thurs night, June 29th. We can't wait to see everyone and to see Mia or Mommy blow her first candle at the two parties back home. I really can't wait to see her dig into her own little bday cake!! :)
Be sure to check out our pics on the right side...enjoy!

Mia likes cake
Saturday we celebrated Josh's 29th bday with some friends and cake and ice cream too. Well Miss Mia decided that she wanted some and so I let her try some cake...and she liked it. She wanted more and more...:) I also let Mia try some ice cream today, just a bit, along with some cake from another bday we went to. She seemed to like the ice cream too, go figure!! I think her fav is still yogurt!! I have a feeling she's going to be like her mommy and daddy who both love cake and ice cream!

Not getting up at night anymore...
So Mia has not gotten up at night since a few nights ago! Phew! She only got up once Monday night and didn't wake up Tues or Wed night. I'm not sure what caused her to get up for a bit over a week straight but it was a bit draining for us. She is doing well though sleeping 10 hours sometimes a bit more and going back down as soon as she gets up. Her naps are good also and I can tell that her teeth aren't bothering her anymore due to her actually napping! I also noticed yesterday that her top right tooth has broken through...thank god!!! I just hope her other teeth aren't as painful as these were. :)
New Carseat
Miss Mobile Mia is officially out of her infant seat as of today!! UPS delivered our new Alpha Omega Elite Convertible/Booster Carseat today and I love it! Mia fits into it perfectly and it didn't take long to install. I'm sure she'll like this better than the infant one. :)
Oh and today, Mia got a bump on her forehead. :( from when she hit the coffee table drawer knob today. It was a total accident and I was watching her, but she slipped and fell. It swelled up at first but went down after a little while. She was fine but she screammmed initially and did not even want me to put ice on it (of course). I felt so badly about it but I realize that she's going to get bumps and bruises now that she's very mobile. I still feel badly about it. :(

Cough and runny nose
So I think with Mia's teeth coming in, it is causing her to have this cough and a runny nose (since last Friday). Her cough started a week ago but then went away for a few days. On Monday, it seems to have come back but usually only happens at night. I think it is prob from her nasal drip but I may take her to the docs just in case.
Mia is doing well walking and hardly crawls anymore. It's pretty cool seeing how well she walk and knowing that it all happened on May 12th. She is one mobile baby and I just love it!

Incidents
Yeah so while I was in BRU today, Mia was eating some puffs while I was looking for an umbrella stroller. Then all of a sudden, she started coughing and turning red! She couldn't catch her breath and was slumping over in the cart. I panicked, slapped her back and tried to get her out of the cart while another lady was about to help me (I saw her and asked her for help). As soon as I did that, she started crying and was okay...phew! I was sooooo scared, I was like shaking like a leaf and hugging her at the same time. To see your baby choking is something I am so scared of.
This was the 2nd time this happened in two days...kinda. On Monday, Mia was eating a piece of my banana and started gagging on it. Her eyes looked like they were about to pop out of their sockets! As I was about to hit her back area, she coughed it up thankfully. I was so relieved yet so scared...my heart was racing a mile a minute! This girl is going to give me a heart attack!
Mia is now napping and seems fine despite the incident we had today. Now I don't want to give her any puffs or bananas anymore just in case she starts choking again. :( Guess she'll never learn how to chew if I don't give her these things.

Getting up at night :(
This was from last night...luckily she finally went to sleep for us a bit after 9pm.
So Miss Mia is NOT going down for us once again tonight! This has been happening now (as I look in my journal) since a week ago yesterday!!! She'll go down for us around 7ish and about 1 1/2 hours late, she wakes up screaming! We give her time before going in but by the time 5 mins comes, she usually has not stopped screaming. So we take turns going in and rocking her which calms her down. She'll lay her head on our shoulder which I LOVE and then we'll put her down again. She'll be all quiet until about a few mins later then she starts screammmming again. Right now, we've gotten up 3x tonight and now she is quiet...for how long is the question! Sooooo not sure what to do but I know it's def b/c of her teeth. Poor Mia...I feel so badly!

Teeth...what a pain!
So Mia's getting her front teeth and bottom right tooth (found out at her docs appt on Mon) and I have to say that these are way worse then the bottom two that came in months ago! Mia was practically inconsoleable yesterday morning/early afternoon. Literally, she'd cry and scream no matter what I did! This happened a bunch of times and she finally calmed down when I was eating yogurt, b/c she wanted some. Little stinker wouldn't eat her bananas but she ate yogurt prob b/c I was eating it.
Anywho, I can see them trying to come through and I wish I could go through it for her. I tried the cold teething rings, but it only keeps her content for a bit. We tried tylenol land teething gel ast night and it seemed to work until she woke up 3x after going down for the night This has been happening since the past week and usually doesn't stop crying/screaming until around 8-8:30....after going down at 7. I guess I am glad it is happening now rather than when are back home (leaving in two weeks!)! Let's hope they pop through soon!

Walking, walking and more walking!
Yeah so Mia is def walking well! She is taking about 15 steps at a time before she either trips over her feet or just decides to sit down and read a book...well maybe not read! It is just too cute to see! I told Josh she took a few REALLY quick steps today that looked as if she was running! She loves to walk though and play with her toys. She loves reading books or pretending to read and goes "taka taka taka" when she opens them. I need to get it on video! Mia also started to do head stands, sort of since this past Sat. She'll stick her butt up in the air and balance on her head...ya have to see it in person. :) I think I like this age the best (I say that about every age though!)!
Mia went to the docs today for her ear infections checkup. The doc said she has no more infections but that her top teeth are popping through and that is prob why Mia has been tugging on her left ear (since this past weekend). She also said her bottom right tooth is on its way in too! OH NO..3 teeth at once! No wonder why Mia has been getting up a bunch of times this past week after going to bed at 7ish! She'll wake up screaming after about 30 mins and it'll take another 3x of getting her up b/c she is screaming, for her to finally stay asleep. Poor thing, I wish I could go through it for her. :( We gave her some tylenol tonight so let's hope that helps! :)

Mia is improving but still has ear infections
Mia is improving, crankiness wise, and not as cranky as she has been the last couple days. She doesn't seem to be tugging on her ears as much, her fever never came back, she has a bit of a cough though and is eating her solids better today thankfully. I think she has lost some weight but I'm sure she'll gain it back. She did 3 days of the antibiotics and now is done with it b/c it stays in her system for 10 days. Let's hope it works this time!

Mia's both ears are infected :(
Mia is doing much better today despite some crankiness. She developed ear infections probably this past weekend sometime. We saw her tugging on her ears a little Sat and Sun. She then developed a temp of 101 Monday night and when I took her to the docs on Tues, they said both of her ears are becoming infected. Poor thing! She was very cranky, crying LOUDLY, and not eating solids Tues morning and nothing would calm her down except my keys....not even nursing which is not typical (she bite me today and yesterday so maybe that is why she wouldn't nurse well..I told her NO and it got her upset). Every time she wanted to be held, she'd cry even when I put her down. It was a tough day Tuesday to say the least.
Her temp went up to 103 Tuesday and luckily Tylenol brought it down that night. She slept pretty well that night and got up only once after we put her down. Wednesday Mia did better and had no temp. She was still cranky, fussy, not eating solids and tugging on her ears, but playful which was a good sign. She didn't nap her last nap yesterday at 4pm and went to bed early around 6:30pm. However, she started screaming loudly around 9 like she's down before and after rocking her for a few mins, she was good to go. Then right around 10:30, she really started sreaming and crying and woulnd't stop. I went in to rock her and calm her down but it didn't work...Mia was not having it! She was squirmy, screaming, even after nursing her which usually calms her down. It seemed like she wanted more milk, so I gave her some in a bottle which she chugged. Usually she'll lay her head down on my shoulder after eating, but not this time...she was livid! Josh even tried rocking her and she wouldn't calm down. I ended up trying to calm her down again by bringing her out in the kitchen to see Josh and then changing her which helped! Plus, she burped a good burp which helped! Mia was good to after that and slept a good night's sleep. Phew!
Today, Mia is doing better and has no temp. She's eating her solids a bit better but is still cranky. We have her on a diff type of antibiotics (b/c last time her right ear was infected, maybe a month ago, and the doc feels it may not have worked well) so we are hoping it works this time around!
