Feb. Update

Well it’s another update time!!

MR. KEEGAN
Mr. Keegan just turned 6 months old on Sunday Feb. 24th and time is flying by! He prob weighs about 18 lbs or so and is pretty long…prob close to 26 1/2 in. He is rolling back and forth like crazy as of about two weeks ago. As soon as I set him down, he is on his belly. He does get antsy when on his belly but does well most of the time. Keegan also did a little push up on his belly on Tuesday and will def be crawling within the next month or so! He is also grabbing his toes a ton and like to throw his right arm up and down. Keegan also just started to suck his thumb as of yesterday but doesn’t keep it in long. It’s cute though to say the least!

Today we took out the exersaucer and Keegan did pretty well in it but not at first b/c he wanted to be fed. Once his tummy was full, he did well and starting sucking on the toys on it. Our next toy thing will be the jumper which Mia just loved when she was a baby!

Keegan has his 6 month appt on Tuesday and I’ll be sure to let you all know what his stats are. I’m guessing he is over 18 lbs! Woah! ☺

Acid Reflux

We still think that Keegan has or had silent reflux which is why he has been on zantac for about a month now. It seems to work and he doesn’t spit up nearly as much as he used to. He also seems to sleep a bit better than before b/c he was constantly getting up b/c 11pm and 12am for about 8 weeks just screaming and crying. We tried propping up

Food Wise
Keegan is still nursing about 8-10 mins but now that he is sick (2nd cold in one month) he is nursing longer. We still feed him about an hour before bedtime due to gas issues and give him gripe water for it. Keegan is also getting cereal once again (we held off a bit b/c he didn’t seem to be interested in it) along with veggies. He didn’t quite like the squash but loved the sweet potatoes. He also liked the peas which we started today. This weekend, we will start green beans!

Sleep Wise
Well as much as I’d like to say he is sleeping very well and I’m getting my much needed sleep, he isn’t and neither am I. BUT he is doing a ton better thankfully. Our main issue is keeping him down after 8pm. He’ll generally get up once or twice and just screams. I usually end up feeding him at the 4 hour mark around 11pm or so, and he was staying down until 6 or 7pm until recently. Now he is getting back up around 4ish b/c he is by the bumper. Grrrrr!! And once he sees me, he KNOWS it’s milk time. Then he’ll go back down until 8 or 8:30am. So I do get sleep but I def need more. The nice thing is is that Josh will give keegan the feeding if I go to bed before he does and then I will take the feedings after 2am. It came to the point about a month ago where I was just so so so so tired, that Josh needed to help me out at night. It definitely helps now that I am getting more sleep but I am still pretty tired from the early feeding.
Keegan is still swaddled (feet are free as of a few weeks ago) and although it may seem that he is too big to be swaddled, he doesn’t seem to mind it. I will prob start to try the “unwrapping” process with one hand at a time starting next week. I’ll start with naps so he can get used to it before we try it for bedtime.

MISS MIA
Mia is doing well with being a big sister and just loves her little brother. She is doing much better with not hitting but still gets in her querky moods. Mia no longer eats in her highchair as of about 3 weeks ago and now sits in a “big girl chair”, aka a regular chair. She loves it but does make quite a mess sometimes like tonight with her rice. It was EVERYWERE! Mia also still sleeps in her potterybarn everywhere chair and not her big girl bed. It doesn’t seem comfy but it is for her. It’s too cute to see her all sprawled out on it.

Mia is still in diapers but does very well with going potty in the potty…even #2s! She did well in CO on the big toilet and we all made a big deal when she went and we still do. She gets M&Ms when she goes potty in the potty but sometimes that doesn’t even work especially during the day. However, today she gave over to me and Josh in the living room, with no diaper on and said she did pee pee in the potty which she did….just a sprinkle b/c most of it was in her diaper. ☺ Too cute!! She’s one smart little girl!! Gotta love it!
Finally, come this fall, Miss Mia will be starting preschool about 5 mins from here. I am sure she is going to love it!!

Mommy and Daddy
We are doing well and enjoying our kiddies! They are a ton of fun to be around yet there are times where they realllllly test our patience, but we get through it. ☺ I am loving getting more sleep (not a ton but more than I previously was getting) and that Josh is helping me out at night with the feedings. I also love this age that Keegan is right now. I forgot how much fun 6 months is! I know that each age gets so much more exciting and I can’t wait to see how well they interact when Keegan gets older. We really are enjoying it more and more everyday!

Josh continues to enjoy working from home and has not moved over to the new company yet….not even sure when it will happen b/c they keep pushing the date out. I really have it easy with him being at home. He works downstairs in case I need help like I did this morning with Mia’s tantrum and it really works out well for us. He may be going to Italy for 3 weeks (oh darn!!) next month but that is up in the air as we speak. I am hoping to make the trip when he goes again!! ☺

I am just about down to my pre-prego size with just a few lbs to lose. We just joined the new YMCA about 15 mins from here and it is really nice! I am looking forward to shedding the pounds and getting back into my regular exercise routine which I miss!!

So all is well here and we can’t wait for the spring weather to arrive!

Rolling back and forth!

Well Keegan started rolling back and forth the week of Vday and it is just too cute to watch! The minute you set him down, he is on his belly! Sometimes he'll get antsy but does well most of the time. He is also trying to scoot as of 5 months and is getting closer and closer each day to crawling. Mia crawled at 7 1/2 months and I think Keegan will be a bit before that but we'll see!
