HI Everyone,
Well we had a great time tonight with Josh's parents who came trick or treating with us. It was a beautiful night out here and Mia had a blast! She dressed up as a cow and couldn't wait to go trick or treating. She loved taking candy out of the bowls and knocking on doors...she even wanted to go into the houses! :) Keegan prob won't remember much of tonight since he is a bit young and was also passed out on daddy. He was dressed as a pumpkin and was just too cute in it (a bit big but cute)!
Nana and Pop Pop had a great time with Mia. They held her hand and took her to the houses. Everyone was sitting on their porches passing out candy which was pretty cool. Some of the neighbors even went all out like the Grim Reaper in our pics...Mia wasn't sure what to make of him. We had a great time though and Mia filled up her halloween pail with lots of goodies that mommy and daddy now get to eat! Good job Mia! :)
Hope you all had a great night too! Here are our pics...check them out when you can!
Love,
Cathy, Josh, Miss Moo Cow and Mr. Pumpkin

Keegan's 2 month baby well appt.
Hi Everyone,
Here are Keegan's stats from his 2 month checkup last week (was 9 weeks old):
* Weight = 11 lbs 10.2 oz, 60th % tile (one pound more than Mia weighed at this age)
* Length = 32.25 in, 60th % tile (right around the same length as Mia was)
* Head = 14. 8 cm 30th % tile (both my kids have small heads...haha)
As you can tell, Keegan is growing very well and gaining weight perfectly. The doc said all looks great and that Keegan will soon be rolling over within the next few weeks to month. Mia rolled over at 10 weeks and Keegan will be 10 weeks on Friday. He's not rolling over yet though but he's starting to get in that position. :)
Our doc also suggested a multi-vitamin for Keegan in the winter so he get his much needed vitamin D.
During this visit, Keegan got 3 shots, one being a combo shot along with an oral one. As soon as he got the shots, he started crying a ton but I was right by him saying "it's ok, it's ok" and it seemed to make him not scream a ton. It was really quick though and as soon as I held him, he seemed to calm down...the bottle of milk helped too! I learned that one from my appts. with Mia. :) However, that afternoon was not fun b/c Keegan was in pain. We gave him tylenol which seemed to help. He was fine once we put him to bed but I felt badly when he would cry while I was feeding him (which he never does) or just out of the blue. Poor guy! :(
Anywho, our next baby well visit is not until he is 4 months old which will be here before we know it! :)
Take care,
Cathy

Carroll Family Update
Hola Everyone,
It’s our monthly update time so here goes:
Mr. Keegan turns 9 weeks old this Friday (has he 2 month appt Thurs so we'll let you know how it goes) and time is flying by! He is definitely getting more fun and just not a “blob” anymore. haha!! He is also getting pretty active and likes to kick off us when we hold him. Keegan also found his fingers a couple weeks ago and is trying to learn how to keep his fingers in his mouth. He’ll get the hang of it eventually just like Mia did. I wonder if he’ll suck on his two fingers like she does? He also lovessss to smile and coo at us...I just melt with he does it! :) Just yesterday he was trying to roll from his tummy to back but ended up getting frustrated. We’ll keep trying!
Sleep wise, he’ll take naps which aren’t too consistent length wise but is getting there. He’ll nap in his crib mostly but sometimes bouncer if he falls asleep in it. However, he is still not sleeping through the night but has become consistent at sleeping 3 hour stretches. I’m trying to get those to become longer and it happened Sun night when he slept for 5 hours straight! Woo Hoo! I knew he can do it...now I just have to get him to do it again! :) Usually when he does wake up, it’s b/c of a #2. So then I feed him and he is out like a light for another 3 hours due to #2 usually. Just the other day he would not go down for me for 3 hours!!! Ahhhh!! He was wide awake after his 3 am feeding and would not go down. Finally he did but it was only for an hour! :( Anywho, I’m still sleep deprived but the hardest weeks are over thankfully. My body is used to not sleeping well at night so these awakenings don’t bother me so much now-a-days.
Mia is also doing well and is one active 2 year old!! She is still in diapers and in her crib and will be until she tries to climb out. Her language is unbelieveable for a 2 year old (at least that’s what we’ve been told) and I just love to hear her speak. She’ll play a lot in her playroom with her animals and watch her baby Einstein dvds which she loves. Mia also like to undress herself in the mornings and luckily she has yet to take her diaper off in her crib although she has taken it off downstairs. Just the other day she told me, “Mia take off poopie diaper” and I was like OH NO! The diaper was on the floor with #2 in it and there she was with poop still in her butt! haha! I was laughing! Anywho, Mia has yet to go poop in the potty but has successfully now for a couple months gone pee in the potty. Just Sunday, she told Josh, “Mia has to go pee pee” and then peed in the potty! :) She’s getting there and soon enough she’ll be in her Dora underwear (which we tried but she ended up peeing in them which got all over our carpet...oh well!).
Mia had her 2 year old appt today (had to wait for shot records to come from Cali and then they were 2 months out for appts) and here are her stats:
*Weight = 30 lbs 13.8 oz, 70th % tile
* Height = 36 ½ inches!, 90th % tile
* Head = 47. 5 cm, almost 50th % tile
Our doc said we can start giving her 1-2% milk and that she doesn’t need to go to the dentist until she is three. There they gave her a flu shot and I had to hold her down while they poked her thigh...poor thing screamed loudly!! She calmed down after a few mins and liked the bandaid she got. When we got home, she told Josh, “I got a flu shot!” haha!! She’s a nut!
Just last month we took the kiddies to a pumpkin patch where Mia got to pick out two little gourds and walk in a hay maze. It was fun but not as fun as the orchard we went to a couple weeks ago. There, we got pumpkins and apple cider donuts which Mia loved. It was such a nice day and Mia had tons of fun with the things they had there for her. I of course took pics which I uploaded so take a peek when you can. I can’t wait for Halloween and neither can Mia! The Carrolls are going to come here for Halloween and to go trick or treating with us which should be fun! Mia will definitely be excited!
As for me, I am still not back down to my pre-prego weight which I kind of thought I would be since I didn’t gain as much weight this time around. I have about 10 lbs to go and can def seem changes as the weeks roll by. I am going to get back to the gym sometime within the next couple weeks so that may help me out of bit. I am def out of shape!
Josh and I are also doing well and love our 2 kids so much...and being parents!! It is a lot of fun, but yet a lot of work. It is also very rewarding. I really didn’t realize how different it would be with two kids but I think we adjusted pretty well. I do have tough times with them especially when Mia wants something while I feed Keegan and usually I end up carrying him while he is nursing to get her what she wants like milk. Or in the mornings when I’m feeding him and she needs to eat breakfast....I usually put her in with Keegan still attached to me if Josh has a meeting and is unable to help me. Usually though, Josh helps me out a ton which I’m so thankful for! :) Other than that though, it’s not too bad now that I got a routine going. That’s what helped with Mia and I’m sure will help with Mr. Keegan.
Until next month, have a great Halloween and enjoy the pics (on right side under our family pics)
Love,
Cathy, Josh, Miss Mia and Mr. Keegan

Mia's new trick
Hola,
So lately mia has been taking off her pj pants each morning in her crib and just this week, she's been taking off her diaper when she plays. Well today while I was swaddling Keegan for his nap, she said, "Mia take off poopie diaper!" I was like oh no! I looked at her and sure enough, she was naked from the waist down...with POOP in her butt!! I was laughing but can only imagine what she'll start doing with the poopie diaper if she takes it off in her crib. I hope I don't find out!
Just thought you could all use a good laugh!
Have a good day,

Keegan is getting big!
So our little man is now 7 1/2 weeks old and is smiling like crazy! I love it! He prob weighs about 10 1/2 lbs I'd say and is pretty long just like his sister was. He isn't sleeping that well at night but did show an improvement two nights ago when he slept for 4 hours in a row and even did it last night too! Phew! He'll still wake up every 2 1/2 to 3 hours after that but I'm used to it by now. I'm still sleep deprived but what can I do! I have two healthy kiddies whom I love and I'm just grateful for that much. :)
Keegan has been straining to pas gas/poop once again and I really think it's due to my eating chocolate. A few weeks back, there were a bunch of days where he would literally get all red in the face when trying to poop and would strain so hard. The doc said it was normal but I didn't think it was. I was trying to think of what could have been the culprit and the only thing that I ate differently was brownies. I then stopped eating choc and he was fine. So then just this past weekend I wanted to really see if it was choc and so I had a piece of candy which caused him to strain once again. He wouldn't go to sleep for me for 3 hours Monday morning and this was the same way he was when I had those brownies. Anywho, no more choc for me. He isn't straining today thankfully! I'm going to ask my doc about it next week when we have his 2 month appointment.
Mia is doing well too around Keegan abut hit him today while I was holding him. Josh gave her a time out which she hates but she has to learn not to hit a baby. She does give him kisses and hugs which is just too precious.
I am doing well too and getting used to having 2 kiddies whom I love so much. It's def hard juggling things around the house and both of the kids but I do it. I really didn't realize how busy I'd be with both of them and don't know how my mom did it with 4 kids?!!! I give her a ton of credit!! haha! I brought both of them out for the first time 2 weeks ago to a farmers market around here and they did well. Keegan slept the entire time so that was nice. Then I brought them to my cousins house and it wasn't too bad until Keegan had a meltdown on the highway (not a busy one thankfully) and I had to stop to soothe him. I then took them for a walk together the other day in our double stroller we just got. Once again, Keegan slept and Mia just enjoyed being outside. Ppl ask me if we will have more...and I say, "Ask me in a year!" haha! Right now though, I think 2 may be it due to various reasons. We'll see though!
That's it for now....I'll let you know how Keegan's appt goes next week!
