Stood by himself for the first time!

This past Sat, Keegan stood by himself for my brother and his fiance in our living room. I wasn't there when he did that but he did it again for me. I was sitting by him and Keegan pulled himself up on me and let go! He stood for a few seconds and I was like NO WAY! haha!! My brother was like what's the big deal, he did that before too. :) It was cute! Watch out, here comes Keegan!

Teeth are coming in finally!

Well Mr. Keegster is finalllly getting teeth! I thought they would never come in! ha! As of June 20th, we saw some white coming through under his lower lip area and then as of Friday, we saw the tips of the bottom two teeth poking through! Josh said he's getting another one to the side of the bottom but I can't see it yet. Keegan isn't too cranky yet!

Carroll Family Update

Well it's our monthly update time so here it goes:

Mr. Keegan
Keegster (as Mia would say) is now 10 months old (as of the 20th)!! He had his baby well appointment a week ago and here are his stats:Weight = 19lbs 15oz
Lenght = 28 in
Head = 17cm

As you can tell his is long and chunky! Well actually his thighs are the only thing that are chunky. They are cute though!

Words
Keegan can say Mama, Dada and almost Pop Pop as of last weekend. We are trying to get him to say fan (yeah right) also b/c he knows where it is and it's usually on in the kitchen. We'll ask him where the fan is and he'll look up. He's smart just like his mommy! ;)

Food

Keegan is still eating baby food, 3rd stage foods, along with food we eat such as bread, cheese, ice cream (he lovessss ice cream!) and yo baby yogurt. He eats very well and his thighs prove it! Keegan still nurses off me about 4x per day...they are very quick though, about 7 mins total. I'm going to nurse until he is one and then start the weaning process. Mia weaned herself right on her 1 year bday party at Patsy's so I hope it's just as easy with keegan! :)

Mobility

Keegan is very mobile and crawls everywhere! He loves to pull himself up on things and walk along them especially our sectional. He always goes for the TV area so I'm always trying to distract him but that hardly works. Keegan has yet to stand on his own although he let himself go for a millisecond for Josh the other day. haha! I guess that doesn't really count. I don't know if I am ready for him to walk just yet so I'm content with him crawling for now. He is a fast crawler though just like his big sister.

Sleep
Sleep, what's that?! I'm getting more sleep than I was months ago but he's still getting up once in the early morning which just kills me. I don't mind though b/c I know how far he has come and I am thankful for that. Lately though, he has been sleeping through (fingers crossed!) until 6am or later. Sometimes, he will go back down until 8 or when he poops. He's also giving us a hard time about going to bed as of last week. We aren't sure why but it's prob due to the fact that he started falling asleep on us in the glider over a month ago and is just used to that. Soooo we are not letting that happen and are just putting him down awake, but drowsy. We'll still rock him and all but we don't want to get into the habit or rocking him to sleep. As you can tell, it's kind of a hard habit to break. He did a lot better tonight and took us only 27 mins to get him down instead of an hour or 1 1/2 hours the past two nights. Let's hope he continues to sleep through!

Naps
Keegan is a great napper and I have no complaints! He takes about 2 naps per day but will take 3 if he gets up before 8am. It's just weird that he'll go right down for his naps but not for bedtime?

Keegan is doing well and we just love love love this stage of his life! He is one happy baby to say the least and we are two very happy parents!

MISS MIA
Miss Mia will soon be turing the big 3 on July 14th! It's crazy to think that my baby girl is getting so big so soon! :( She is such a blessing and so much fun to be around. Mia loves to sing a multitude of songs from Row row row your boat to Mary had a little lamb. She even asks for Pink Floyd when we tuck her in! I wonder who taught her that? Hmmm?! Mia also loves to sleep on the floor (still) with her animals and blankets. However, as of last week, she's been sleeping in her daybed at night or part of the night. She usually ends up back on the floor sometime before 8am. She's a nut!

Mia just loves her little brother and it is so cute to see them together! She will play with him when I ask her to, give him toys and even feeds him when I am not looking. It's cute! We caught her picking up the cereal ever so carefully with his spoon and putting it every so gently in his mouth. It was a kodak moment and I didn't get it on video! She is going to be such a great big sister!

Mia's a big help to me too with getting me diapers, wipes, toys...she just really loves to help me do things and reminds me of myself. She's a mini me!

Mia is still potty trained and has never looked back! She has had only 1 accident and that was back in March. She will go potty by herself and yell "MOMMY WIPE ME!" when she is finished. She usually yells it when I'm nursing Keegan and gets impatient...but hangs in there! I hope Keegan's potty training goes just as well!

Mia loves to play with her little boyfriend Noah who is the same age as her. It is just too cute to see them together and here her say, "Mommy, can I go see Noah today?"

As of last week, Mia has been not napping! I don't think I am ready for this! For about 2-3 days she didn't nap and then the 3rd day, she napped 3 hours! She didn't nap yesterday or today so hopefully tomorrow she will nap! Miss Mia is doing well though and is your typical almost 3 year old!

MOMMY AND DADDY

As for me and Josh, we are loving our little kiddies and enjoy spending time with them. We love seeing how they interact and watching Keegan learn new things. Josh loves working from the couch (haha) and being able to see Keegan achieve milestones. He didn't get to do that with Mia.

I am back into exercising and am training for a half marathon I am doing with patsy in CO in Oct. However, I started off to quick and now my knees are paying for it. I am on a break until I feel no pain in my knees which may be a while. I may be walking the half marathon but at least I'll be in sunny CO! :)

Stay tuned for pics to come out next week! I have a lot to caption/upload so bear with me. :) Hope you enjoy reading my blog. I am going to try to update it more often, but with me being as busy as I am, I don't see that happening...but I will try!

Until next month, have a good one!

Love,

The Carrolls
