Carroll Family Update

Hola Everyone,

Just an update on our little family...

Mia is almost 23 months old! WOW! Not sure where the time went to but it flew by! She is active as ever, loves to run around with her bunny whose hair is almost gone b/c of all the plucking Mia has done since Easter, still loves to suck her two fingers especially at bed time, loves playing with her grandparents whom she gets to see more often now since we've been back, absolutely loves animals especially dogs and cats, tries to sing her ABCs and Itsy Bitsy Spider but usually wants me to do it instead, loves to read books and have me sing to her at night and really loves to lay down on beds and pillows. Maybe she'll love being in a big girl bed when it comes to that time?

She keeps me busy though to say the least which I really love. I can't imagine what it will be like with her and a baby though? Twice is busy is probably an under statement but we'll work it out. She'll probably think Keegan is her baby and say, "My baby" all the time. Mia knows where Keegan is and thinks he's in her belly and daddy's too...it's cute! She loves to pull up my shirt when I ask her where Keegan is and point to my belly. I think she'll be a great big sister!

Mia has adjusted well to being on the east coast time. It probably took us a week to convert her b/c we took out time but it worked out. Her naps have been longer since we got here which means her bedtime is a bit later, but she still sleeps about 11-12 hours which I can't complain about. She is one good sleeper...must take after daddy!

Since we've been here, Mia has done a lot better at eating. She loves to eat fruit, especially strawberries and watermelon...must take after her mommy. Mia also loves to drink milk out of her cereal bowl and lovvvesss cupcakes which I don't give her too often just b/c she usually only eats the icing...go figure! That's the best part!
She eats well though and is average weight for an almost 2 year old. Her next appointment will be around her 2nd birthday.

Things are going along well for me and my pregancy. Little Keegan is active as ever and I just love seeing him move around in my belly! It is really amazing. I feel great, but just short of breath a lot quicker than I used to be. I don't have any stretch marks and really didn't have much with Mia. I also have only gained about 23 lbs where I gained about 10 lbs more with Mia at this stage of 28 weeks. It's all worth it in the end though!

Josh is still on his sabbatical and will be until July 16th which he is loving. We're spending our time with both families whom we haven't seen since Christmas and also at Dewey Beach in DE. We're traveling back and forth a lot which isn't bad, but it'll be nice to be in our own home and not have to drive back and forth b/t homes every few weeks. Thankfully our parents only live about 2 1/2 hours apart. He and I want to go somewhere just the two of us before his sabbatical ends but we're still figuring out where. It won't be too far away just b/c of my pregnancy and all but it'll be fun whatever we do.

So all is well in the Carroll family and we are adjusting to the east coast way of life. We really miss it back in Cali along with all of our friends...it takes some getting used to being away from a place where you've been for 7 years, but we're doing well. I reallllly don't miss the hot weather back there though. It's nice to have sporadic weather where it is hot some days and then a bit cooler others. Too bad Cali wasn't so $$ and far from our families b/c we definitely would have stayed. We just really want our kids to grow up around our family and being back here as proved to us how priceless it is to see Mia around her grandparents/family. It is so cute to see her get so excited to see her grandparents and to know that we can just hop in the car and go see them...no booking plane tickets and worrying about how she will do on the flight. It's nice to say the least and we are definitely glad to be back.
